Electricity

This is the cost of the electricity supplied to you during this billing period and is the only part of the bill that is subject to competition. PowerStream collects this money and pays this amount directly to the Independent Electricity System Operator who in turn pays the generators.

What is the Regulated Price Plan?

At the request of the Minister of Energy, the Ontario Energy Board developed an electricity price plan that provides stable and predictable pricing, encourages conservation and ensures the price consumers pay better reflects the price paid to generators.

The Regulated Price Plan pricing applies to customers who buy their electricity through PowerStream. Consumers who currently buy their electricity from a retailer and pay a contract price will continue to do so.

Customers eligible for the Regulated Price Plan include Residential, Low Volume, Designated and Multi-unit Residential.
