Notice of Completion Class Environmental Assessment Markham Transformer Station #4
PowerStream has completed the Class Environmental Assessment for the proposed construction and operation of a new 230 - 28 kiloVolt (kV) transformer station (TS) in the Town of Markham to address the growing electricity demand in PowerStream's service area, particularly in the Town of Markham and Town of Richmond Hill.
The proposed site of the TS is north of highway 407, west of Rodick Road (see map). The station will consist of two transformers and associated equipment used to step down electricity supplied from the adjacent 230 kW transmission line to 28 kW so that it can be distributed to homes and businesses. In accordance with the Class EA for Minor Transmission Facilities, the draft Environmental Study Report (ESR) will be available for stakeholder review and comment for a 30-day period from Thursday, October 2, 2008 to Friday, October 31, 2008.
