In addition to delivering a comprehensive suite of energy management programs to our customers, PowerStream’s commitment to the environment has expanded over the past few years to include several sustainable initiatives and is now an integral part of the company’s business practices. Examples of PowerStream's environmental stewardship includes:

  • Construction of head office facility that received LEED® (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) Gold certification in 2008
  • Implementation of an employee vanpool program in 2009
  • 2009 "Smart Commute Employee of the Year" award winner for North Toronto, Vaughan
  • 2009 Ontario Clean Air Alliance's "PeakBuster Utility Challenge" award winner
  • Construction of operations centre facility that received LEED Gold certification in 2011
  • Sponsorship of conservation and sustainability awards for five municipal chambers of commerce's business awards programs

To be considered for the Ontario's Environmental Leaders program, a company must have an environmental management system, an emissions inventory and must report publicly on its progress. As a program participant, PowerStream is committed to achieving “beyond compliance” environmental impact reduction steps at its participating work locations as follows:
